June 15th is the birthday of Shelly Makus Sullivan: daughter of Don and Judy; sister of Joel and Dennis; wife of Mike; mother of Jake, Seamus, Mia, Augustine, Sofia, Nelly and Max; sister-in-law, cousin, aunt and friend to many, many more.
Shelly grew up in Booneville, Arkansas, and if you listen carefully you can still pick up a little bit of a lovely accent. To watch her care for and love her children and husband is an inspiration. Nothing seems to rattles her and I'm in awe of her patience on their weeks-long road trips with all the kids!
Having sent two off to the University of Dallas, Shelly was not looking forward to that separation. Not to worry, though, the five remaining Sully kids in the house will keep life interesting!
So, happy Birthday, Shelly, and may you have 78 more healthy ones, by the Aunt Joannie Sullivan Law of Longevity Aspiration of 2008.
