Dear Hearts,

Old Glory
The resolution adopted by the Continental Congress on June 14, 1777 following the report of a special committee which had been assigned to suggest the flag’s design states:"That the flag of the United States shall be of thirteen stripes of alternate red and white, with a union of thirteen stars of white in a blue field, representing the new constellation."
The Star Spangled Banner that flew over Fort McHenry and inspired Francis Scott Key's song is on display at the Museum of American History in Washington D.C. and is impressive to see in real life.
U.S. Army
The U.S. Army’s honorable lineage dates back to June 14, 1775. Today, 249 years later, we observe our Army’s values and patriotism, our legacy of service and making a difference in our communities, and the sacrifices we have made.--www.history.army.mil
