March 9th is the birthday of Amos Wiley Flores: son of Randy and Lizzy; brother of Levi and Maggie; grandson of Margaret and Brian and Randy and Kim; cousin, nephew and buddy to many more.
Amos is in school now, having started kindergarten at Mt. Baldy School in the fall. As wonderful as it is to attend this mountain school, he is the first one to announce he could learn everything he needs to learn staying home. He knows his way around a work shop/garage and handles most tools with confidence. Skill is still developing, but the confidence is strong.
These days Amos has added Harry Potter to his interests, but Star Wars still holds the number-one spot in his life. Talking with him is always a blast, as he might offer thoughtful statements about how a seed becomes a sapling right before making a poop joke. He already shows a strong work ethic and fashion sense (which sometimes reminds me of his great grandpa Dody/Big Sully).
