Happy Birthday, John!

Dear Hearts,

July 18th is the birthday of John Sullivan Bornhop: son of Andy and Patty; brother of Andrew and Thomas; nephew, cousin, coach, teammate and friend to many more folks. John is one of ten men in our family's last few generations who was given the name that means "God is Gracious." John will pick up a new title in a few months--husband! He and Misty will be married in January and we are all very excited to welcome her to our family.

John continues his work at Villa Park High School as an English teacher and shows wonderful enthusiasm for bringing his students on journeys in literature. On the baseball field he continues teaching and has helped lead the team to a league title and a state title in recent years.

He has a love for travel and takes every chance to explore a new place, usually with Misty by his side. John recently had a terrific time chaperoning a group of high school students on a trip to Europe, visiting Germany, Austria and France. Domestically, National Parks are his favorite destination and he hopes to check a few more off his bucket list in the next year.

Music, travel, cooking, golf, reading, fishing and camping--John is up for whatever activity might present itself. He is loyal, faithful, kind, compassionate, funny, smart and loving. I'm so lucky God sent us this guy to teach me how to be a mom.

Happy birthday, John, and may you have 96 more healthy ones, respectively, by the Aunt Joannie Sullivan Law of Longevity Aspiration of 2008.

God bless us and save us and keep us from harm.

Love, Patty/Mom
